To demonstrate the deterministic precision and latency of the KineticKontrol module within our MOGEN spatial compute fabric, we built AetherGate, a fully playable, controllerless augmented reality defense game.

AetherGate proves that complex, high-exertion, full-body biomechanics can be tracked and evaluated at the edge in real-time, using nothing but a standard mobile selfie camera or desktop webcam. There are no wearables, no controllers, and no depth sensors. Your body is the only input.

The Story: Become the Resonator

The Age of the Kinetics

For millennia, the Great Mirror separated our reality from the Primal Chaos, a realm of raw, volatile elemental energy. To protect our world, an ancient order of Wardens practiced Kinetic Sorcery, a martial art that converted physical momentum into magical barriers. These "Kinetics" were the peak of human evolution; their every strike rippled through the fabric of reality to keep the chaos at bay.

The Age of Stillness

As humanity moved toward sedentary lives and the "Mists of Time" took hold, the world’s Kinetic Frequency dropped. Without the rhythmic movement of its protectors, the magic faded, the Wardens vanished, and the Great Mirror began to crack. Sensing the end, Arch-Warden Kael, the Last Kinetic, spent his final moments forging a bridge to the future: The Vance Lens.

Lost for centuries, this artifact was designed to stay dormant until it sensed a "Resonator" - someone willing to move against the tide of stillness. It has now integrated itself into your modern mobile technology, waiting for you to activate its power.

The Breach: The Portal in Your Pocket The Primal Chaos has finally broken through. To these elemental invaders, your device is a Portal, a tether they must reach to "ground" themselves and drain our world's life force. They are invisible to the naked eye, existing in the space between atoms, but through the Vance Lens, their true forms are revealed.

Gameplay Mechanics: Form, Speed, and Control

You are the Resonator. Golems will spawn from the void and move toward your screen. If they reach your device, the portal's integrity is weakened. If portal health drops to zero, the breach is permanent, and the battle is lost.

To defend the portal, you must channel Kael’s ancient frequencies by performing specific, high-intensity physical movements to cast Pulse Spells.

Because AetherGate is powered by KineticKontrol, form and speed are absolute. If you deviate from the proper biomechanical form, or execute the movement too slowly, the underlying Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) and Tempo Variance engines will reject the motion, and your spell will not fire.

The Bestiary & Kinetic Spells

You must identify the elemental threat and cast the corresponding Kinetic Spell:

🪨 Earth (The Lithos-Crag): Heavy, sediment-based golems that seek to root the portal. You must use the grounding energy of Air Squats to shatter their armor. Form Check: Raise your arms in front of you to shoulder height as you go down, and lower them as you stand back up.
🔥 Fire (The Cinder-Wraith): Fast, erratic spirits of pure combustion. You must use the air displacement of Jumping Jacks to snuff them out. Form Check: Full extension of arms overhead while legs spread; return feet together with arms at sides.
💧 Water (The Tide-Stalker): Relentless, fluid forms that seek to drown the Lens. You must use the rhythmic flow of a Front Kettlebell Raise to redirect their current. Form Check: Pick up an imaginary kettlebell between your legs with your hands together. Stand up, swing the "kettlebell" up with arms raised to shoulder height, and bring it back down to the floor.

The Resonance of War: Scoring System

The Vance Lens does more than just reveal Golems, it measures your Resonance (the purity and intensity of the kinetic energy you generate).

Kill Score (Entity Disruption): Earned for successfully shattering a Golem’s form and returning its essence to the Void.
Motion Power (Aetheric Output): Measured by the physical power of your motion. Our Physics Engine calculates your actual limb velocity in meters-per-second. Greater physical speed generates high-voltage magic, acting as a damage multiplier.
Kill Speed (Kinetic Initiative): The Lens rewards those who strike before the Golem can anchor itself. Eliminating a threat early prevents the "weight" of the Chaos from increasing.
Wave Clear (Rift Stabilization): Awarded for purging a full assault squad. Each cleared wave strengthens the Portal’s integrity.

Installation & Setup Guide

Camera & Positioning:

Place your device about waist to chest high, facing you in landscape mode.
Step back 10 to 15 feet so your entire body (head to toes) is visible on the screen.
If your body is cropped, or if you move out of frame, the spatial matrix cannot resolve, and spells will not cast.
Ensure you are the closest human to the device (clear the area of bystanders).

Extract First: Right-click the downloaded .zip file and select "Extract All...". (Do not run the game from inside the zip file, or the camera drivers will fail to load).
Open the extracted folder and double-click Aether.exe.
If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears, click "More info", then "Run anyway".
Note: Ensure your Windows Privacy Settings allow desktop apps to access your webcam.

Download the .apk file directly to your Android device.
Tap to open. If prompted, grant your browser/file manager permission to "Install unknown apps".
On first launch, tap "Allow" when Aether requests Camera permissions.
